Morgan Cowling

After graduating from WAAPA in 2009, Morgan has worked predominantly in the US, living in New York City, and traveling to perform all over North America. Morgan’s most notable USA credits include; National Tour: Meg Giry; The Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary North American Tour (Original Cast). Off-Broadway/NYC: Sherri Walters; Marry Harry (The York Theatre), Lecy; Once We Lived Here (Urban Stages), Ensemble; Bull Durham (Workshop). USA Regional Theatres: Betty Rizzo; Grease (STAGES St. Louis), Ensemble/Laurey understudy; Oklahoma! (Goodspeed Musicals), Ensemble; Hello, Dolly! (Ford’s Theatre) winning the Helen Hayes Award for best ensemble, Megan; The Madness Of May (Thalian Hall), Disney’s Wishes (Disney Cruise Line, Original Cast).

Since returning to Western Australia at the end of 2020, Morgan has performed with the Perth Symphony Orchestra for their Perth Festival performance, played the role of Kitty Mills in the regional tour of Miss Westralia, appeared as a Diva in Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical at Crown Theatre, made her Fringe World debut as Stella in Bridezilla the Musical, and enjoyed bringing out her ‘dark side’ playing Grandma Addams in Zealous Productions’ The Addams Family. Most recently, Morgan performed the acclaimed role of Cassie in A Chorus Line at the Planet Royale theatre to stellar reviews. A highlight for Morgan from the 2022 Fringe World season was presenting the world premier of New York, New York? – a cabaret co-created with her friend, and fellow Perth expat, Caitlin Cassidy about life in the Big Apple.

She also enjoys her various teaching opportunities in Perth, including ballet and musical theatre for students of all ages.
