At the Dance Workshop we offer Tap classes from Basics Courses right through to Advanced level, so whether you’re a professional dancer looking to up skill or an absolute beginner we have the perfect class for you.  

Tap dance is rhythm, energy, and pure joy rolled into one. In our adult Tap classes, you’ll learn how to turn your feet into percussion instruments creating crisp beats, playful rhythms, and show stopping sounds. From classic Broadway style tap to modern, funky grooves, you’ll explore a mix of steps, combinations, and footwork.  Tap is fantastic for improving coordination, musicality, and fitness, all while letting your personality shine through every beat. Whether you are brand new to Tap or brushing up your skills, you’ll leave class energised, confident, and maybe even a little addicted to the sound of your own rhythm.

6-week BASICS Course

If you are completely new to dance then our BASICS course is for you.

This is the perfect course for absolute beginners that have never danced, or dance this style before.

Each week you will learn the foundations of dance, how to move your body, rhythm and posture.

Dance Classes

We have a timetable of casual drop-in classes from Beginners to Advanced levels. Dancers are welcome to join these classes at any time without any long term commitment.

We have a full schedule of classes. Our daytime classes run Tuesdays–Saturdays from 9:30am, as well as evening classes Mondays–Thursday from 5:30pm.

What to Wear

For your Tap classes you want to wear clothes that you can easily move in such as active wear. Tap shoes are preferred. Don’t have Tap shoes? No problem! We do have shoes in the studio which are available for loan for the class. Please be aware that we only have a select number of shoes and sizes and they are loaned out as a first come first served basis.
