Contemporary dancing is an expressive physical art form that explores the emotion of dance using motion to interpret music and lyrics. Contemporary dance performances can range from exquisitely coordinated to incredibly personal, even flowing between one and the other. The goal is to show how we as individuals experience emotion, and subsequently share our stories through dance.

In class, students will train the body to follow its natural anatomical alignment. We’ll help you build the strength and flexibility to move the way you were meant to, and express yourself with confidence.

Students learn to safely turn, jump and fall in different ways; develop spinal contraction and release; perform curves and spirals with grace and control; and focus on movements that develop strength as well as flexibility. You’ll develop a better awareness of yourself, and develop a mobile and powerful body you can use to explore space and time.


We have a timetable of casual drop-in classes from Beginners to Advanced levels. Dancers are welcome to join these classes at any time without any long term commitment.

We have a full schedule of classes. Our daytime classes run Tuesdays–Saturdays from 9:30am, as well as evening classes Mondays–Thursday from 5:30pm.
