Deanna Faust

Deanna began dancing at the age of seven with the late Lyn Cosgrove. She trained in ballet, jazz and Spanish dance, and later joined the Special Dance Programme at Balcatta Senior High School.

She commenced a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) before moving to Melbourne in 1998 to pursue her passion for flamenco. There she studied with Laura Uhe and began teaching and performing regularly.

In 2002 Deanna travelled to Spain to further her training, studying at Amor de Dios in Madrid, Carmen de las Cuevas in Granada, and with Antonio El Pipa in Jerez. Since returning to Perth she has performed with Farida Rabih, José Giraldo, and Manuel Muñoz of Flamenco Puro.

In 2019 she returned to Spain and was awarded the advanced level scholarship to attend Inmaculada Ortega’s annual flamenco summer school.
